Buildings & Outdoors

Renewable Energy

Since the beginning of 2022, 100% of the hotel's electricity comes from hydropower, which is renewable.

Heat pump in the lake

Since 1992, we have been using a heat pump system linked to the water of Lake Geneva which uses its coolness to cool our rooms through the air conditioning. A heat recovery system is associated with it, which allows us to heat the pools of the Guerlain Spa of our sister hotel, the Beau-Rivage Palace. Thanks to this, our air conditioning system consumes five times less electricity than conventional systems.

Product traceability

Our chefs pay particular attention to the products they use by insisting on traceability. This means that we know where each ingredient we use in the dishes we offer to our customers comes from.

Recycling

Soap dispensers

We have installed large pump soap dispensers in our showers to limit the amount of plastic bottles used and minimise their transport.

Recycling our soaps with Sapocycle

We recycle all our used soaps in collaboration with Sapocycle, a non-profit organisation that transforms soaps discarded in hotels into products that improve the lives of disadvantaged people. The soaps are recycled by disabled people and then distributed to improve the sanitary conditions of families in need." For more information on the process and programme, please visit the following link: https://sapocycle.org/process/.

Turning our food waste into renewable energy

All of our kitchen waste is collected and transformed into energy by BioEcoEnergie SA, which uses a methanisation process that transforms our food waste into biogas and fertiliser, called digestate. The biogas is then simultaneously transformed into electrical and thermal energy in a cogeneration engine. In 2021, this enabled us to contribute to the production of 4,320 kWh of electricity.

Employee well-being

Accommodation and catering

Our employees can take advantage of preferential rates for accommodation in our staff residences and meals in our staff restaurant.

Massages for members of the housekeeping team

We offer a massage service at the workplace for our housekeeping team members to improve their daily working comfort, reduce the risk of serious injury and increase their well-being.

D'CLIC Committee

Employees of our hotel can join the D'CLIC committee, which helps to make working life more pleasant and to create better links between staff members. This committee also participates in local solidarity actions (Christmas party at the children's hospital, collection of donations, etc.). Through this committee, our employees can also participate in local sports and charity events (24-hour swimming race, 20 kilometres of Lausanne, etc.).

Discounts in local shops and luxury hotels

We offer all our employees the possibility to benefit from discounts in several local businesses such as boutiques, hairdressers, bars, etc. They can also discover the "Suisse Deluxe" hotels, a collection of the most luxurious hotels in Switzerland, at ultra-preferential rates.

Sport

We offer our employees access to our fitness centre at the Angleterre & Résidence during off-peak periods, as well as free entry to the municipal swim.
